The Relationship between Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

Bismillah.

Tiba-tiba kena kira GPA. Tak terfikir GPA midsem does count. I mean, not to be added up at the end, but to know our
performance, like how high should you bounce back, if it is not the expected one.

Kira punya kira. GPA midsem: 3.52. erk.

Last week was our exam week. Today's last week was my paper for Chemistry. I think, it's today's last week, I started to wonder, why do I have to learn all of these subjects? How do I need them in my life? in other people (who are learning the same subjects as well) 's lives? It shouldn't be a waste, should it? So I got to relate them to my need.

Pikir punya pikir.

Mathematics. All we learn in mathematics are numbers, and equations. Put the numbers here and there. This and this is what you have to use to get this number. And when we got the answer, then? Numbers exist to count. To have
the right counts, we need equations. On what basis are the equations made of?

Contoh la, kita nak buat kotak. Kita kena ada area, in which the length and the width are needed. To what length and width, we need to make a cube, or maybe cuboid? Kalau kotak tu nak guna untuk isi air, kita kena tahu volume pulak. That will need the height. Tinggi mana kita perlu to fill that particular volume of water? Kalau nak buat pintu, kena tahu panjang dan tinggi. Perlu ambil kira the torque, so the door can be opened. Radius yan
Atau kita nak tahu population, atau kira inheritance based on Mendel's Law.

Nombor tu kita dapat dari konsep Physics or Chemistry or Biology. Dah letak nombor, kena tahu kira pulak. Nak tahu kira, kita perlu persamaan.

Now, you have the equations, and the numbers to be filled in, applicable to the related concept. So just solve it.

Biology. Asasnya adalah sel. Satu sel dibina daripada beberapa komponen ; cell membrane, nucleus, cytoplasm. These are among the basics. Let's tak
e one; cell membrane. The biological membrane consists of several components as well. It is made up of phospholipid bilayer, which is connected to certain protein serves as pathway of several subtances. The layer is made up of phospholipid; hydrophobic tail and hydrophillic head. Let's get narrower, by taking the protein only. Protein is made up of amino acid, which has amino group in its structure. The amino group is NH3 - Nitrogen and Hydrogen. These two are atoms, exist in the periodic table - the most basic form of things on earth - which are learned in Chemistry. Every single thing in Biology, has its original form, which is made up of bonds between several atoms.

That is for a cell. What then if it's a tissue? That will take billionth of atoms bonded together, I guess. To know the nature of those atoms, how they react, their prop
erties, those are from Chemistry. Then, Biology also considers reaction rate. Especially in the topic of enzymes. The reaction they made in digestion, or diffusion of gases. The concept of reaction rate is learned in Chemistry, what affect will concentration, temperature, make on the reaction. If you have a particular disease, you will need medication. If a pill can supply this much of protein, for example, how many pills do we need to make the rate of reaction goes back to normal? Theoretical and experimental value usually are different. To know the effectivity of a drug, we need to calculate the percentage yield. And that we learn in Chemistry.

Chemistry and Physics. Kita nak buat sesuatu perlu tahu the force or pressure that particular thing has to withstand. Dah tahu kekuatan yang perlu ada, then we have to choose the material. Choosing the material, is based on its characteristic. But what give the material its special characteristic? Chemistry explains that in terms of structure of bonded atoms, type of bonding, the inter and intra molecular forces invloved, and its position in periodic table, which gives the mass, size, and energy, further explains the appearances and characteristics shown by that material.

Konklusinya,

SEMUA TU MEMANG KENA BELAJAR! =.='

Just terfikir..next sem kena ambil Biology 2, Physics 2, Chemistry 2, and Maths 1. Baaaanyak! Kenapa semua....? Ok. Kita dah cari kaitan tadi. Ok..dah tahu semuanya berkait..then?

Mereka semua ni berkait untuk apa..?

Kita tahu kaitan ni untuk apa...?
(Selain nak yakinkan hati yang you have to take all the subjects!)

The relationship, must have a purpose. A purpose that they all are related. Manusia punya hubungan pun ada tujuan kan.

One is related to the other. And it will bring us somewhere, but where?
Semua ni ke arah mencari sesuatu. Tapi apa?

  1. Someone has suggested that the unifying intertwined concept of knowledge in this world would somewhat lead to a supreme being - A being that has none superior, none greater can be perceived: namely God.

Atau, kita orang Islam panggil Allah =)

But no one can see it in that way.

    InsyaAllah, moga istiqamah.

p/s: if you go deeper into Math, it would somehow be senseless because you do not know what you are counting. Maybe the syllabus keep it that way.
That makes physics more interesting =)

  2. Yep. That's what I see when relating those subjects as well. Knowledge dalam dunia ni macam satu program. Bila ada program, mesti ada programmer; and that's God.

Kita sekarang ni sedang explore the program made.

    InsyaAllah, untuk anda juga :)

    Syukran!
